Class Descriptions

Puppy Kindergarten

  • For: Puppies 8–18 weeks
  • Length: 6 weeks
  • When: Beginning January 2015
  • Cost: $150
  • Prerequisite: 2 rounds of vaccinations

Class content: We cover all the puppy essentials, for example teaching your puppy where to go to the bathroom (house-training), basic manners like sit and come when called, that it’s not okay to bite human hands, which objects to chew, how to settle down, to be okay with being alone, to be comfortable being handled, and to be relaxed and friendly to new people and dogs (socialization).

This class gives your puppy a solid foundation of manners and socialization—and it gives you the information and techniques you need to raise a well-behaved, easygoing dog.

Basic Manners

  • For: Dogs 6 months and older
  • Length: 6 weeks
  • When: Beginning January 2015
  • Cost: $175

Class content: The aim of this class is to have a well-behaved dog you can take anywhere and introduce to anyone. We cover both the theory of how dogs learn—so you know how to solve problems outside the classroom, too—and practice everyday scenarios like polite greetings, good manners during mealtimes, safe interactions with kids, and more. The cues and skills include focus, sit, down, stay, go to your bed and leave it.  In addition, we introduce the skills needed for recall and loose-leash walking (heel).
